20250508 [새벽묵상] 인간 지도자는 사라져야 합니다 | Human Leaders Must Disappear (민/Num 20:22~29)

20:22 이스라엘 자손 곧 온 회중이 가데스를 떠나 호르 산에 이르렀더니

20:23 여호와께서 에돔 땅 변경 호르 산에서 모세와 아론에게 말씀하시니라 이르시되

20:24 아론은 그 조상들에게로 돌아가고 내가 이스라엘 자손에게 준 땅에는 들어가지 못하리니 이는 너희가 므리바 물에서 내 말을 거역한 까닭이니라

20:25 너는 아론과 그의 아들 엘르아살을 데리고 호르 산에 올라

20:26 아론의 옷을 벗겨 그의 아들 엘르아살에게 입히라 아론은 거기서 죽어 조상에게로 돌아가리라

22 The whole Israelite community set out from Kadesh and came to Mount Hor. 23 At Mount Hor, near the border of Edom, the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, 24 “Aaron will be gathered to his people. He will not enter the land I give the Israelites, because both of you rebelled against my command at the waters of Meribah. 25 Get Aaron and his son Eleazar and take them up Mount Hor. 26 Remove Aaron’s garments and put them on his son Eleazar, for Aaron will be gathered to his people; he will die there.”

20:27 모세가 여호와의 명령을 따라 그들과 함께 회중의 목전에서 호르 산에 오르니라

20:28 모세가 아론의 옷을 벗겨 그의  아들 엘르아살에게 입히매 아론이 그 산 꼭대기에서 죽으니라 모세와 엘르아살이 산에서 내려오니

20:29 온 회중 곧 이스라엘 온 족속이 아론이 죽은 것을 보고 그를 위하여 삼십 일 동안 애곡하였더라

27 Moses did as the Lord commanded: They went up Mount Hor in the sight of the whole community. 28 Moses removed Aaron’s garments and put them on his son Eleazar. And Aaron died there on top of the mountain. Then Moses and Eleazar came down from the mountain, 29 and when the whole community learned that Aaron had died, all the Israelites mourned for him thirty days.

대한민국의 21대 대통령 선거가 이제 한 달도 남지 않았습니다. 야당 대표에 대한 대법원의 판결이 나왔음에도 야당은 오히려 대법원과 법관들을 탄핵하겠다고 큰소리 칩니다. 삼권분립의 원칙은 이미 사라진 것 같습니다. 한편 여당은 당에서 대통령후보를 선출했지만, 제3의 후보와 단일화 문제로 잡음이 일어나고 있습니다. 국가의 이런 혼란이 왔는데도 여전히 개인의 입장만을 생각하는듯한 모습입니다.

인간 지도자들의 불완전함을 우리는 매일 뉴스를 통해서 접하게 됩니다. 그래서 더 기도해야 할 때라고 생각합니다. 나라를 새롭게 이끌 새 인물이 있으면 좋겠다는 생각이 듭니다.

The 21st presidential election in South Korea is less than a month away. Despite the Supreme Court's ruling on the opposition leader, the opposition is loudly calling for the impeachment of the Court and its judges. It seems that the principle of the separation of powers has already disappeared. Meanwhile, the ruling party has selected a presidential candidate, but there are disputes over unification with a third-party candidate. Even with the nation's current confusion, it seems that people are still only thinking about their personal positions.

We encounter the imperfections of human leaders every day through the news. Therefore, I believe this is a time when we need to pray even more. I hope that a new person will rise to lead the nation in a better direction.

인간 대제사장의 불완전함 (22~26절)

오늘 본문은 이스라엘의 초대 대제사장인 아론의 죽음과 그로 인하여 대제사장직이 아론의 아들 엘르아살에게 이임되는 이야기입니다.

이스라엘의 걸출한 영적 지도자인 대제사장 아론은 모세의 입이 되어 이스라엘을 출애굽 시킨 입지전적인 인물입니다. 그가 모세를 도와 한 일을 거론하자면 종이가 부족할 것입니다. 하나님의 부르심에 자신은 입이 뻣뻣한 사람이라고 핑계하는 모세에게 하나님은 다음과 같이 말씀 하셨습니다.

여호와께서 모세를 향하여 노하여 이르시되 레위 사람 네 형 아론이 있지 아니하냐 그가 말 잘 하는 것을 내가 아노라 그가 너를 만나러 나오나니 그가 너를 볼 때에 그의 마음에 기쁨이 있을 것이라 너는 그에게 말하고 그의 입에 할 말을 주라 내가 네 입과 그의 입에 함께 있어서 너희들이 행할 일을 가르치리라 그가 너를 대신하여 백성에게 말할 것이니 그는 네 입을 대신할 것이요 너는 그에게 하나님 같이 되리라 (출 4:14~16)

The Imperfection of Human High Priests (Verses 22-26)

Today's passage tells the story of the death of Aaron, the first high priest of Israel, and how the high priesthood was passed on to Aaron's son, Eleazar.

Aaron, the distinguished spiritual leader of Israel, was a pivotal figure who served as Moses' spokesperson and led the Israelites out of Egypt. If we were to mention all the ways he helped Moses, there would be not enough paper to list them. When Moses, who was called by God, made excuses, saying that he was slow of speech, God responded with the following words:

또한 아말렉과의 르비딤 전투에서 모세가 손을 들고 기도하면 이스라엘이 이기다가, 손을 내리면 이스라엘이 밀리자 모세의 기도의 양손을 붙잡아 승리로 이끈 조력자가 아론입니다.

하지만 불완전한 인간 지도자의 모습은 현실에서와 같이 성경에서도 쉽게 목격할 수 있는 장면입니다.

아론이 위대한 지도인 것이 분명하지만, 동시에 그는 한없이 부족하고 실수가 많았던 지도자였습니다.

어찌 보면 아론의 일생은 불순종으로 시작하여 불순종으로 마쳤다고 해도 과언이 아닙니다.

모세가 십계명을 받으러 시내산에서 40일을 머무는 동안 산 아래서 아론은 동요하는 이스라엘 백성을 통제하지 못하고, 그만 금으로 송아지를 만들어 이것이 우리를 이끌어낸 신이라고 하여 백성들이 우상숭배를 하게 되는 크나 큰 죄악을 저지르게 하였습니다(출 32:1~6).

또한 그의 생애 마지막에는 모세와 함께 므리바에서 반석을 명하여 물을 내야 하는데, 모세가 반석을 두 번 치는 일에 함께 동조함으로 결국 가나안에 입성하지 못하는 심판을 받게 된 것입니다.

이처럼 인간 지도자는 누구나 실수를 하고, 부족함이 있습니다. 죄인인 인간은 어쩔 수 없습니다.

다만 그럼에도 하나님께서는 아론을 충분히 귀하게 사용하셨고, 그의 마지막을 잘 배려하십니다.

그는 호르산에서 명예롭게 아들에게 대제사장직을 인수인계 하였고, 백성들은 그의 죽음을 30일 동안 애곡할 정도로 귀한 마지막 환송을 받았습니다. 이것은 하나님의 사랑이요, 은혜입니다.

Additionally, during the battle with Amalek at Rephidim, when Moses lifted his hands in prayer, Israel would prevail, but when he lowered them, Israel would falter. It was Aaron who helped Moses by holding up his hands, leading them to victory.

However, the imperfection of human leaders is a reality that can be observed not only in life but also in the Bible.

Although Aaron was a great leader, he was also deeply flawed and made many mistakes. In many ways, it could be said that Aaron's life began with disobedience and ended with disobedience.

While Moses was on Mount Sinai for forty days receiving the Ten Commandments, Aaron failed to control the restless Israelites. He allowed them to make a golden calf, declaring it to be the god who brought them out of Egypt, leading them into the grave sin of idolatry (Exodus 32:1-6).

Furthermore, near the end of his life, Aaron, along with Moses, failed at Meribah when God commanded them to speak to the rock to bring forth water. Instead, Moses struck the rock twice, and both Moses and Aaron were judged and barred from entering the Promised Land.

Just as we see in real life, human leaders make mistakes and have imperfections. As sinners, humans cannot help it.

However, despite all this, God used Aaron in a significant way and cared for him at the end of his life. He honorably transferred the high priesthood to his son at Mount Hor, and the people mourned his death for thirty days, honoring him greatly. This was the love and grace of God.

하나님의 2가지 명령 (27~29절)

하나님은 모세에게 2가지를 명령하십니다.

먼저는 아론은 조상에게 돌아가고 하나님이 주신 가나안 땅에는 들어가지 못할 것입니다(24).

조상에게 돌아간다는 표현은 이스라엘의 장례 예식과 관련된 표현으로 죽는다는 의미입니다.

그가 약속의 땅에 들어가지 못하는 이유는 므리바에서 하나님의 말씀에 순종하지 않은 이유 때문입니다.

하나님은 죄의 문제를 심각하게 다루십니다. 하지만 더 거룩해야 할 지도자의 죄악은 더 심각하게 다룹니다.

다윗의 죄의 문제를 하나님은 심각하게 다루셨습니다. 마찬가지로 하나님은 모세와 아론의 교만과 불순종의 죄악을 꽤 심각하게 다루신 것입니다. 반면에 그렇게 하신 또 다른 이유는 지난 번에 말씀드린 것처럼 모세와 아론은 율법을 상징하는 인물이기 때문에 약속의 땅에 들어가서는 안 되는 것입니다.

반면에 여호수아와 갈렙은 믿음을 상징하는 인물이기 때문에 1세대 가운데 유일하게 가나안 땅에 들어갈 수 있었던 것입니다.

다음은 아론의 대제사장 옷을 벗겨, 그의 아들 엘르아살에게 입하라 하십니다(26).

아론의 장남, 차남인 나답과 아비후는 하나님 앞에 다른 불을 향로에 담아 드리다 죽었습니다(레 10:1, 2).  

Two Commands of God (Verses 27-29)

God gives Moses two commands.

First, Aaron is to return to his ancestors, and he will not enter the land of Canaan that God has given them (24).

The phrase "return to his ancestors" is a reference to the Israelite funeral customs, meaning that he is to die.

The reason he cannot enter the Promised Land is because he did not obey God's command at Meribah.

God takes the problem of sin very seriously. However, the sins of leaders, who should be even more holy, are treated more seriously.

God addressed the sin of David seriously. Similarly, God took the pride and disobedience of Moses and Aaron seriously. Another reason for this, as I mentioned previously, is that Moses and Aaron symbolize the law, and therefore, they were not to enter the Promised Land.

On the other hand, Joshua and Caleb symbolize faith, which is why they were the only ones of the first generation allowed to enter the land of Canaan.

Next, God commands that Aaron's high priestly garments be taken off and given to his son Eleazar (26).

Aaron's two eldest sons, Nadab and Abihu, died after offering unauthorized fire before the Lord (Leviticus 10:1-2).

그래서 삼남인 엘르아살이 아론의 뒤를 이어 대제사장이 되었습니다. 대제사장의 의복은 거룩한 것이었습니다(겔 42:14). 그것은 성령의 임재를 상징하는 것이고, 그 옷 자체가 예수 그리스도에 대한 예표입니다. 이제 성령은 아론에게서 그의 아들 엘르아살에게 옮겨 임재하십니다.

불완전한 인간 대제사장 아론은 죽고, 불완전한 그의 아들 엘르아살이 그의 직분을 대신합니다.

사람은 바뀌지만, 대제사장의 역할은 영원한 것입니다.

히브리서 저자는 이에 대해서 다음과 같이 힘있게 기록합니다.

그러므로 우리에게 큰 대제사장이 계시니 승천하신 이 곧 하나님의 아들 예수시라 우리가 믿는 도리를 굳게 잡을지어다 우리에게 있는 대제사장은 우리의 연약함을 동정하지 못하실 이가 아니요

모든 일에 우리와 똑같이 시험을 받으신 이로되 죄는 없으시니라 그러므로 우리는 긍휼하심을 받고

때를 따라 돕는 은혜를 얻기 위하여 은혜의 보좌 앞에 담대히 나아갈 것이니 (히 4:14~16)

인간 대제사장은 그저 예표였습니다. 우리에게 오실 영원한 대제사장의 모형이었습니다. 이제 그 대제사장이 오셨고, 우리에게 당신의 보혈로 말미암아 담대히 은혜의 보좌 앞에 나갈 수 있는 길을 열어 놓으셨습니다. 그러므로 인간 지도자는 사려져야 합니다. 인간 지도자가 우상이 되어서는 안 됩니다. 우리의 소망은 진정한 대제사장 예수 그리스도입니다.

Therefore, Aaron’s third son, Eleazar, succeeded him as high priest. The high priest's garments were holy (Ezekiel 42:14). They symbolized the presence of the Holy Spirit, and the garments themselves were a foreshadowing of Jesus Christ. Now, the Holy Spirit moved from Aaron to his son Eleazar.

The imperfect human high priest Aaron dies, and his imperfect son Eleazar takes his place in the priestly office.

Though human leaders change, the role of the high priest is eternal.

The author of Hebrews writes powerfully about this:

The human high priest was merely a shadow, a type of the eternal high priest who would come. Now, that high priest has come, and through His precious blood, He has opened the way for us to confidently approach the throne of grace. Therefore, human leaders must fade away. Human leaders must not become idols. Our hope is in the true high priest, Jesus Christ.
