8:2 이스라엘 모든 사람이 다 에다님월 곧 일곱째 달 절기에 솔로몬 왕에게 모이고
1 Then King Solomon summoned into his presence at Jerusalem the elders of Israel, all the heads of the tribes and the chiefs of the Israelite families, to bring up the ark of the Lord’s covenant from Zion, the City of David. 2 All the Israelites came together to King Solomon at the time of the festival in the month of Ethanim, the seventh month.
8:3 이스라엘 장로들이 다 이르매 제사장들이 궤를 메니라
8:4 여호와의 궤와 회막과 성막 안의 모든 거룩한 기구들을 메고 올라가되 제사장과 레위 사람이 그것들을 메고 올라가매
8:5 솔로몬 왕과 그 앞에 모인 이스라엘 회중이 그와 함께 그 궤 앞에 있어 양과 소로 제사를 지냈으니 그 수가 많아 기록할 수도 없고 셀 수도 없었더라
3 When all the elders of Israel had arrived, the priests took up the ark, 4 and they brought up the ark of the Lord and the tent of meeting and all the sacred furnishings in it. The priests and Levites carried them up, 5 and King Solomon and the entire assembly of Israel that had gathered about him were before the ark, sacrificing so many sheep and cattle that they could not be recorded or counted.
8:6 제사장들이 여호와의 언약궤를 자기의 처소로 메어 들였으니 곧 성전의 내소인 지성소 그룹들의 날개 아래라
8:7 그룹들이 그 궤 처소 위에서 날개를 펴서 궤와 그 채를 덮었는데
8:8 채가 길므로 채 끝이 내소 앞 성소에서 보이나 밖에서는 보이지 아니하며 그 채는 오늘까지 그 곳에 있으며
8:9 그 궤 안에는 두 돌판 외에 아무 것도 없으니 이것은 이스라엘 자손이 애굽 땅에서 나온 후 여호와께서 저희와 언약을 맺으실 때에 모세가 호렙에서 그 안에 넣은 것이더라
6 The priests then brought the ark of the Lord’s covenant to its place in the inner sanctuary of the temple, the Most Holy Place, and put it beneath the wings of the cherubim. 7 The cherubim spread their wings over the place of the ark and overshadowed the ark and its carrying poles. 8 These poles were so long that their ends could be seen from the Holy Place in front of the inner sanctuary, but not from outside the Holy Place; and they are still there today. 9 There was nothing in the ark except the two stone tablets that Moses had placed in it at Horeb, where the Lord made a covenant with the Israelites after they came out of Egypt.
8:10 제사장이 성소에서 나올 때에 구름이 여호와의 성전에 가득하매
8:11 제사장이 그 구름으로 말미암아 능히 서서 섬기지 못하였으니 이는 여호와의 영광이 여호와의 성전에 가득함이었더라
10 When the priests withdrew from the Holy Place, the cloud filled the temple of the Lord. 11 And the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled his temple.
여호와의 언약궤 (1-9절)
열왕기상 8장은 성전 완공 후 헌납식을 기념하는 내용을 담고 있습니다. 7년이라는 긴 기간 동안 많은 노동력과 소중한 재료들을 사용하여 당시 가장 아름다운 성전을 완성하였습니다. 새로 지어진 성전에서의 첫 예배와 제사는 이스라엘의 장로들, 각 지파의 지도자들, 그리고 모든 남성들을 성전에 모으는 것으로 시작되었습니다. 열왕기상 8:1에서는 "이에 솔로몬이 여호와의 언약궤를 다윗성 곧 시온에서 메어 올리고자 하여 이스라엘 장로와 모든 지파의 두목 곧 이스라엘 자손의 족장들을 예루살렘 자기에게로 소집하니"라고 기록하고 있습니다.

Moving the Ark to the Temple (verses 1-9):
1 Kings 8 describes the dedication ceremony held after the completion of the Temple construction. It took seven years, utilizing numerous workers and precious materials, to build what was considered the most beautiful temple of that time. The first service and sacrifice in this newly constructed Temple was initiated by gathering all the elders, tribal leaders, and men of Israel at the Temple. 1 Kings 8:1 states, "Solomon summoned to Jerusalem the elders of Israel, all the heads of the tribes and the chiefs of the Israelite families, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD from Zion, the City of David."
When all the leaders and people of Israel were assembled, the first act of the dedication service was to move the Ark of the Covenant, which had been kept in the old Tabernacle, into the newly built Temple. This significant act, performed by the priests in the presence of all the people, marked the beginning of the Temple dedication.
Inside the Ark of the Covenant were only the two stone tablets that Moses had placed there at Horeb, after the Israelites left Egypt—other items like Aaron's rod and the jar of manna had disappeared over time.
여호와의 영광이 성전 안에 가득하다 (10-11절)
화려하게 지어진 성전 내에서 가장 중요한 것은 언약궤였습니다. 이 언약궤는 하나님의 말씀을 상징합니다. 따라서 제사장들이 언약궤를 놓음으로써 성전 봉헌 예배의 시작을 알렸습니다. 거대한 건축물이나 화려한 내부 장식이 성전을 정의하는 것이 아니라, 그 안에 있는 하나님의 말씀의 존재가 성전을 정의합니다.
열왕기상 8:10절에서는 "제사장이 성소에서 나올 때에 구름이 여호와의 전에 가득하매"라고 말씀합니다. 이는 바로 언약궤가, 하나님의 언약 말씀이 들어 있는 것이 지성소에 놓여진 직후 발생한 일입니다.

우리는 마음을 무엇으로 채우고 있습니까? 세상적인 것들로 채우려 하고 있습니까? 아니면 하나님의 말씀과 예배로 채우고 있습니까? 세상은 종종 우리의 마음을 걱정, 욕심, 원망, 과거의 상처, 자기의와 생각으로 채우려 합니다. 이런 것들은 하나님의 영광, 기쁨, 평화의 축복을 막습니다. 우리는 하나님께서 우리를 위해 준비하신 많은 축복을 받기 위해 마음을 하나님의 말씀으로 채워야 합니다. 그러므로 하나님의 말씀으로 가득 차게 하여 매일의 행동을 인도하고, 매일 그 말씀에 따라 살도록 기도합시다.
The Glory of the Lord Fills the Temple (verses 10-11):
The most important element within the beautifully constructed Temple, made of fine cedar, stone, gold, and precious materials, was the Ark of the Covenant, symbolizing the Word of God. Thus, the placement of the Ark by the priests signified the start of the Temple's dedication service. It is not the grand architecture or the ornate interior that defines a temple but the presence of God’s Word within it.
This is further illustrated in verse 10, which states, "When the priests withdrew from the Holy Place, the cloud filled the temple of the LORD." This occurred right after the Ark, containing God's covenant words, was settled in the Most Holy Place.
Although 1 Kings 7 details the splendid external and internal decorations of the Temple, it does not mention the presence of God's glory upon completion. It was only when the Ark of the Covenant was placed inside that the glory of the LORD filled the Temple, as described in verse 11, "The priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the LORD filled his temple."
From this event and Scripture, it is evident that God desires us to understand the importance of His Word in our lives, our hearts as temples of the Holy Spirit, and our churches. The presence of God’s Word, its fulfillment, and adherence shape a true temple, congregation, and personal faith.
What do we fill our hearts with? Do we fill our hearts with worldly things? Or do we fill our hearts with the Word of God and worship? The world often tries to fill our hearts with worries, greed, grudges, past hurts, self-righteousness, and human thoughts, which block the blessings of God's glory, joy, and peace. We need to strive to fill our hearts with the Word of God to receive the many blessings that God has prepared for us. So Let us pray to be filled with the word of God and to let it guide our day-to-day actions and live by it daily.

Paul the apostle wrote this:
Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.”
This verse lists three reasons why our hearts need to be filled with the Word of God. The first two reasons are explained together: teaching and admonition. Christ's word can instruct us, which is "teaching." At the same time, Christ's word can also show us where we are wrong. The word of Christ gives us guidance in how to correct mistakes in what we believe and what we do. The third reason is for us to sing with gratitude in our hearts. So instead of focusing on ourselves, through praise, we are focusing on God.
In today’s society, through social media and other people, we can sometimes focus too much on ourselves. We start to get worried about how others might see us. We want to buy the latest car and wear fancy clothes. These are all good things. However, let us first focus on filling our hearts with the Word of God so that His glory will fill us.
