30:16 그가 다윗을 인도하여 내려가니 그들이 온 땅에 편만하여 블레셋 사람들의 땅과 유다 땅에서 크게 약탈하였음으로 말미암아 먹고 마시며 춤추는지라
16 He led David down, and there they were, scattered over the countryside, eating, drinking and reveling because of the great amount of plunder they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from Judah.
30:17 다윗이 새벽부터 이튿날 저물 때까지 그들을 치매 낙타를 타고 도망한 소년 사백 명 외에는 피한 사람이 없었더라
17 David fought them from dusk until the evening of the next day, and none of them got away, except four hundred young men who rode off on camels and fled.
30:18 다윗이 아말렉 사람들이 빼앗아 갔던 모든 것을 도로 찾고 그의 두 아내를 구원하였고
18 David recovered everything the Amalekites had taken, including his two wives.
30:19 그들이 약탈하였던 것 곧 무리의 자녀들이나 빼앗겼던 것은 크고 작은 것을 막론하고 아무 것도 잃은 것이 없이 모두 다윗이 도로 찾아왔고
19 Nothing was missing: young or old, boy or girl, plunder or anything else they had taken. David brought everything back.
30:20 다윗이 또 양떼와 소 떼를 다 되찾았더니 무리가 그 가축들을 앞에 몰고 가며 이르되 이는 다윗의 전리품이라 하였더라
20 He took all the flocks and herds, and his men drove them ahead of the other livestock, saying, “This is David’s plunder.”
30:21 다윗이 전에 피곤하여 능히 자기를 따르지 못하므로 브솔 시내에 머물게 한 이백 명에게 오매 그들이 다윗과 그와 함께 한 백성을 영접하러 나오는지라 다윗이 그 백성에게 이르러 문안하매
21 Then David came to the two hundred men who had been too exhausted to follow him and who were left behind at the Besor Valley. They came out to meet David and the men with him. As David and his men approached, he asked them how they were.
30:22 다윗과 함께 갔던 자들 가운데 악한 자와 불량배들이 다 이르되 그들이 우리와 함께 가지 아니하였은즉 우리가 도로 찾은 물건은 무엇이든지 그들에게 주지 말고 각자의 처자만 데리고 떠나가게 하라 하는지라
22 But all the evil men and troublemakers among David’s followers said, “Because they did not go out with us, we will not share with them the plunder we recovered. However, each man may take his wife and children and go.”
30:23 다윗이 이르되 나의 형제들아 여호와께서 우리를 보호하시고 우리를 치러 온 그 군대를 우리 손에 넘기셨은즉 그가 우리에게 주신 것을 너희가 이같이 못하리라
23 David replied, “No, my brothers, you must not do that with what the Lord has given us. He has protected us and delivered into our hands the raiding party that came against us.
30:24 이 일에 누가 너희에게 듣겠느냐 전장에 내려갔던 자의 분깃이나 소유물 곁에 머물렀던 자의 분깃이 동일할지니 같이 분배할 것이니라 하고
24 Who will listen to what you say? The share of the man who stayed with the supplies is to be the same as that of him who went down to the battle. All will share alike.”
30:25 그 날부터 다윗이 이것으로 이스라엘의 율례와 규례를 삼았더니 오늘까지 이르니라
25 David made this a statute and ordinance for Israel from that day to this.
30:26 다윗이 시글락에 이르러 전리품을 그의 친구 유다 장로들에게 보내어 이르되 보라 여호와의 원수에게서 탈취한 것을 너희에게 선사하노라 하고
26 When David reached Ziklag, he sent some of the plunder to the elders of Judah, who were his friends, saying, “Here is a gift for you from the plunder of the Lord’s enemies.”
30:27 벧엘에 있는 자와 남방 라못에 있는 자와 얏딜에 있는 자와
27 David sent it to those who were in Bethel, Ramoth Negev and Jattir;
30:28 아로엘에 있는 자와 십못에 있는 자와 에스드모아에 있는 자와
28 to those in Aroer, Siphmoth, Eshtemoa
30:29 라갈에 있는 자와 여라므엘 사람의 성읍들에 있는 자와 겐 사람의 성읍들에 있는 자와
29 and Rakal; to those in the towns of the Jerahmeelites and the Kenites;
30:30 홀마에 있는 자와 고라산에 있는 자와 아닥에 있는 자와
30 to those in Hormah, Bor Ashan, Athak
30:31 헤브론에 있는 자에게와 다윗과 그의 사람들이 왕래하던 모든 곳에 보내었더라
31 and Hebron; and to those in all the other places where he and his men had roamed.
닉 부이치츠(Nick Vujicic)라는 이름을 들어본 적이 있을 겁니다. 이분은 팔다리가 없이 태어났습니다. 어릴 때 학교에 다니는 모습을 상상해봐도 상상할 수가 없습니다. 저는 팔다리가 다 있는데도 불구하고 왕따를 당했었는데 이분은 학교를 어떻게 다니셨을까 생각이 들었습니다. 십대 시절에는 우울증으로 고통받았고 종종 자살을 생각했다고 합니다. 그러나 그는 하나님에 대한 믿음으로 인해 삶의 목적을 찾았다고 합니다. 본인의 스토리를 이제는 수 천명 수만명에게 간증하면서 아직까지 여기저기 다닙니다. 어느 순간 그는 이렇게 말했습니다.
"나는 하나님이 실수를 절대로 하지 않지만 기적을 만들어 낸다는 것을 확신합니다. 나는 그 중 하나입니다. 당신도 마찬가지입니다."
그는 어떻게 이런 말을 하게 되었을까요? 닉 부이치츠는 항상 주님께 물어보고 여러 가지 시험을 극복하기 위해 하나님 안에서 힘을 찾았습니다. 그는 자신이 실패한 사람이 아니라 하나님께서 주신 축복을 기억했습니다.
You have probably heard of a man named Nick Vujicic. He was born without any arms or legs. Just imagine how it must have been when he was younger going to school. When he was a teenager, he struggled with depression and often thought of suicide. But he mentioned that his faith was the reason why he was able to continue to find a purpose to live. And also, he started to share his story to millions of people about his struggles and how he coped with them. At one point he said this statement.
“I know for certain that God does not make mistakes, but he does make miracles. I am one. You are too.”
How do you think he was able to confess this? Because Nick Vujicic always inquired of the Lord and found strength in God even with so many trials and obstacles. He didn’t tell himself that he is a failure, but he remembered the blessings that God have given him.
We see David today who inquired of the Lord and found strength in God while remembering the blessings of God.
오늘의 본문 가운데서 우리는 주님을 구하고 하나님 안에서 힘을 얻으며 하나님의 축복을 기억하는 다윗의 모습을 볼 수 있습니다.
어제의 QT에서 다윗과 그의 사람들은 승리 후 시글락으로 돌아갔을 때 대환영을 받을 것으로 생각하고 있었을 것입니다. 그러나 그들은 도시가 완전히 타버리고 아말렉 사람들에게 모든 사람이 사로잡혀 있음을 발견했습니다. 그리고 그 후에 애굽 소년을 만나고 아말렉 군대가 어디 간지를 알아낼 수 있었습니다.
오늘의 말씀 16 절에서 31 절에 다윗은 시글락에서 잃어버린 모든 것을 되찾는 모습을 봅니다. 아말렉 군대는 승리를 축하하며 파티를 벌이고 있을 때, 다윗은 습격을 기획합니다. 17 절을 보면 그들은 새벽부터 다음 날 저녁까지 싸웠다고 합니다. 히브리어 성경에서는 이 새벽을 황혼이라고 합니다. 그리고 영어 성경에서는 dusk 하로 하는데요. 느낌은 다 비슷합니다. 제 개인적인 생각에는 한 새벽 4 시나 5 시에 공격했다고 생각합니다. 근데 이 시간이 별로 중요하지는 않지만, 기억 해야 되는 것은 파티하는 모습을 다윗은 보고 있었을 것입니다. 아말렉 사람들이 파티를 즐기다가 모두 잠든 후에 지혜롭게 다윗은 공격을 시작합니다.
In Yesterday’s QT, David and his men comes back to the city of Ziklag and they were probably assuming that they were going to get a parade of some sort after being victorious. However, they found the city was completely burned and the Amalekites taken everyone captive. And later they would find an Egyptian who led them to the Amalekites.
And now today, David is about to win back everything that he lost at Ziklag. The Amalekites were having a big party from their victories when David goes on a surprise attack. When you look at verse 17, it says they fought from dusk (night) until the evening of the next day. In the Hebrew bible, it says the original word for dusk was twilight. Twilight is the time after the sun sets and before the sun rises on the next day. And there is usually a little light during this time. So, we can assume that They maybe have attacked some time around 4 a.m. or 5 a.m. David arrives where the Amalekites are but watches them from a distance until they all fall asleep after a night of partying. Then they go into attack.
1 Samuel 30:18 에서는 다윗이 자기의 두 아내를 비롯하여 아말렉 사람들이 빼앗은 모든 것을 되찾았습니다. 다윗이 모든 것을 되찾을 수 있었던 이유는 무엇이었을까요? 왜 하나님이 다윗에게 완전한 승리를 주셨을까요?
이유는 사무엘상 30:6 과 사무엘상 30:8 에서 찾을 수 있습니다.
그의 하나님 여호와를 힘입고 용기를 얻었더라 (사무엘상 30:6)
다윗이 여호와께 묻자와 이르되 (사무엘상 30:8)
1 Samuel 30:8 에서 다윗이 여호와께 물었을 때, 하나님이 다윗에게 대답하여 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. "너는 반드시 성공할 것이다. 승리할것이다" 하나님께서 약속하신 대로 다윗은 모든 것을 되찾을 수 있었습니다.
그래서 다윗은 자기 것만 되찾은 것이 아니라 전리품까지 가져오게 되었습니다. 하나님은 다윗에게 처음에 약속한 것보다 더 많은 것을 주셨습니다. 그러면 왜 다윗에게는 이런 전리품들이 허락 되었고 사울에게는 어떤 전리품도 가져갈 수 없었고, 순종하지 않아 하나님의 심판을 받았을까요? 대답은 아주 간단합니다. 사울에게 하나님이 직접 명령하셨습니다. 하지만 사울은 하나님의 명령을 거역하고 불순종 하게 된것입니다.
We see in Verse 18 that David recovered everything the Amalekites had taken, including his two wives. And how was he able to recover everything? Why did God give David complete victory? Because from 1 Samuel 30:6 David found strength in the Lord his God and 1 Samuel 30:8 David inquired of the Lord.
In 1 Samuel 30:8, When David inquired of the Lord, God answered David, “You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue.” God came through with His Promise.
So, David recovered everything of his and even took some plunder of his own. God gave even more to David than what He originally have promised. And some people here wonder why David was allowed to keep the spoil of the Amalekites when Saul was not allowed to keep any
of the spoils and was judged by God for disobedience. The answer is very simple. There were specific instructions for Saul to not take anything but to destroy the Amalekites completely.
다윗은 아말렉 사람들을 물리치고, 브솔 시내에 피곤해서 머물게 한 200 명에게 갑니다. 22 절에 보면 “다윗과 함께 갔던 자들 가운데 악한 자와 불량배들이” 이 200 명에게 본인의 아내와 자녀 제외하고는 그들에게 아무것도 주지 않길 원했습니다. 이유는 아주 간단하죠? “너네들 한거 없잖아? 다 우리가 했잖아. 너는 그냥 여기서 쉬고 있었잖아.”
그러나 다윗은 그들에게 대답하기를 “어떻게 않주냐? 다 잘 나눠주자"고 합니다.
다윗과 함께 있었던 악한 자들과 불량배들은 아주 큰 오해를 했습니다. 그들은 승리한 이유가 자신들 덕분이라고 생각했습니다. 그러나 이 모든 것은 하나님의 은혜입니다. 하나님의 은혜로 전쟁을 승리하고 하나님의 은혜로 하나님이 몇배로 돌려주신 것입니다.
이 사건을 통해, 우리는 다윗의 리더십을 보았습니다. 그는 200 명의 남은 자들뿐만 아니라, 26-27 절에서 유다의 장로들과 벧엘, 남방 라못, 얏딜에 있는 사람들에게도 전리품을 보냈습니다.
우리는 하나님께서 우리에게 주신 은혜를 잊어서는 안 됩니다.우리는 왜 승리하고 성공했는지 잊어버립니다. 물론, 우리는 해야 할 일을 해야 합니다. 우리 손을 그냥 벌리고 먹을 것과 돈이 들어오기를 기대하는 것만으로는 안 됩니다. 하나님은 활동적인 사람들 active 한사람들 가운대서 움직입니다. 하나님 안에 머무르려고 지속적으로 노력하는 사람들에게 움직입니다.
After David defeated the Amalekites, he went back to the 200 men who were left behind at the Besor Valley because they were too tired to follow David. Some of the ones who were with David defeating the Amalekites didn’t want David to give them anything except their wives and children.
However, David answers these men saying how can we not share what the Lord have given us? These men had a misunderstanding. They thought that they were the reasons why they were victorious. However, this was all God’s doing. It was all the grace of God.
Through this happening, we see the leadership of David as he is giving not only to the 200 men who were left behind but in verse 26-27, we see that he sent some of the plunder to the elders of Judah as well as those who were in Bethel, Ramoth Negev, and Jattir.
We cannot forget the grace God has given us. Many times, we are victorious, we are successful, and we forget why we were successful in the first place. Of course, we need to do what we need to do. We can’t just stay still and open our mouths, open our wallets, and expect food and money to come in. God moves for those who are active, for those who are continuing to stay in the presence of God.
우리는 왜 이렇게 위선자인지 모릅니다. 우리의 비즈니스가 성공하고, 일에서 승진을 하면,우리 자신의 덕분이라고 생각합니다. 그러나 무언가 나쁜 일이 일어나면, 우리는 자신을 비난하는 대신 하나님을 비난합니다. 하나님은 우리 주변의 모든 재난의 책임이라고 말합니다.
우리는 여기서 기억해야합니다. 이것은 모두 다 하나님의 은혜입니다. 우리는 원래 처음에 죽은 존재들 이였지만 하나님이 우리를 너무나 사랑하셔서 독생자 예수를 우리 위해서 보내주신 것입니다. 우리의 죄 위해서 예수님은 십자가에서 고통을 받으신 것입니다.
그만큼 하나님은 우리를 사랑하십니다. 오늘 새벽에도 하나님의 은혜를 기억합시다. “모든 것이 은혜 은혜 은혜 한없는 은혜. 내 삶에 당연한 것 하나도 없었던 것을 모든 것이 은혜 은혜였소”
I don’t know why we are such hypocrites. When something works out for us, when our business becomes successful, when we get promoted, it is due to our own good. It is because we are such amazing people. But when something bad happens, we don’t point our fingers at ourselves, but we point fingers at God. Saying God is the fault of all these disasters around us.
We need to remember that everything is due to the grace of God. Although we were dead in our sins, God sent his one and only son for us. Jesus Christ suffered on the cross for our sins.
God loves us that much. This morning, let us remember all the grace that God has given us and shown us.
“Everything was Your grace. Your grace. Your grace. Your overflowing grace. Used to think all I had I deserved but it was all your grace. Nothing but your grace. It was your grace”
