29:17 스물일곱째 해 첫째 달 초하루에 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하여 이르시되

29:18 인자야 바벨론의 느부갓네살 왕이 그의 군대로 두로를 치게 할 때에 크게 수고하여 모든 머리털이 무지러졌고 모든 어깨가 벗어졌으나 그와 군대가 그 수고한 대가를 두로에서 얻지 못하였느니라

29:19 그러므로 주 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하셨느니라 내가 애굽 땅을 바벨론의 느부갓네살 왕에게 넘기리니 그가 그 무리를 잡아가며 물건을 노략하며 빼앗아 갈 것이라 이것이 그 군대의 보상이 되리라

29:20 그들의 수고는 나를 위하여 함인즉 그 대가로 내가 애굽 땅을 그에게 주었느니라 주 여호와의 말씀이니라

[Nebuchadnezzar’s Reward]

17 In the twenty-seventh year, in the first month on the first day, the word of the Lord came to me: 18 “Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon drove his army in a hard campaign against Tyre; every head was rubbed bare and every shoulder made raw. Yet he and his army got no reward from the campaign he led against Tyre. 19 Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am going to give Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he will carry off its wealth. He will loot and plunder the land as pay for his army. 20 I have given him Egypt as a reward for his efforts because he and his army did it for me, declares the Sovereign Lord.

29:21 그 날에 나는 이스라엘 족속에게 한 뿔이 돋아나게 하고 나는 또 네가 그들 가운데에서 입을 열게 하리니 내가 여호와인 줄을 그들이 알리라

21 “On that day I will make a horn[c] grow for the Israelites, and I will open your mouth among them. Then they will know that I am the Lord.”

30:1 또 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하여 이르시되

30:2 인자야 너는 예언하여 이르라 주 여호와께서 이와 같이 말씀하시되 너희는 통곡하며 이르기를 슬프다 이 날이여 하라

30:3 그 날이 가깝도다 여호와의 날이 가깝도다 구름의 날일 것이요 여러 나라들의 때이리로다

30:4 애굽에 칼이 임할 것이라 애굽에서 죽임 당한 자들이 엎드러질 때에 구스에 심한 근심이 있을 것이며 애굽의 무리가 잡혀가며 그 터가 헐릴 것이요

[A Lament Over Egypt]

1 The word of the Lord came to me: 2 “Son of man, prophesy and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says:

“‘Wail and say,

    “Alas for that day!”

3 For the day is near,

    the day of the Lord is near—

a day of clouds,

    a time of doom for the nations.

4 A sword will come against Egypt,

    and anguish will come upon Cush.

When the slain fall in Egypt,

    her wealth will be carried away

    and her foundations torn down.

30:5 구스와 붓과 룻과 모든 섞인 백성과 굽과 및 동맹한 땅의 백성들이 그들과 함께 칼에 엎드러지리라

5 Cush and Libya, Lydia and all Arabia, Kub and the people of the covenant land will fall by the sword along with Egypt.

30:6 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하셨느니라 애굽을 붙들어 주는 자도 엎드러질 것이요 애굽의 교 만한 권세도 낮아질 것이라 믹돌에서부터 수에네까지 무리가 그 가운데에서 칼에 엎드러지지라 주 여호와의 말씀이니라

30:7 황폐한 나라들 같이 그들도 황폐 할 것이며 사막이 된 성읍들 같이 그 성읍들도 사막이 될 것이라

30:8 내가 애굽에 불을 일으키며 그 모든 돕는 자를 멸할 때에 그들이 나를 여호와인 줄 알리라

6 “‘This is what the Lord says:

“‘The allies of Egypt will fall

    and her proud strength will fail.

From Migdol to Aswan

    they will fall by the sword within her,

declares the Sovereign Lord.

7 “‘They will be desolate

    among desolate lands,

and their cities will lie

    among ruined cities.

8 Then they will know that I am the Lord,

    when I set fire to Egypt

    and all her helpers are crushed.

30:9 그 날에 사절들이 내 앞에서 배로 나아가서 염려 없는 구스 사람을 두렵게 하리니 애굽의 재앙의 날과 같이 그들에게도 심한 근심이 있으리라 이것이 오리로다

9 “‘On that day messengers will go out from me in ships to frighten Cush out of her complacency. Anguish will take hold of them on the day of Egypt’s doom, for it is sure to come.

 오늘 본문의 시작에서 알려준 예언의 시기는 “스물일곱째 해 첫째 달 초하루”로 BC 571년 4월 말입니다. 어제 본문에서 살펴본 예언이 선포된지 17년이 지난 시점입니다. 우리는 어제에 이어서 계속되는 애굽에 관한 예언들을 살펴보겠는데요. 우리는 때로 하나님의 심판이 더디다고 느끼며 의심하고 지치기도 합니다. 그러나 우리는 하나님의 때에 하나님의 심판이 반드시 이루어짐을 기억해야 합니다. 특히 이 마지막 때에 다른 세상적인 어떤 것을 의지하는 것이 아니라 영원하고도 모든 권세 위에 있는 하나님을 바라봐야 합니다. 그렇게 하나님을 신뢰할 때에 우리는 불의한 현실 앞에서 낙심하지 않고 소망을 가질 수 있게 됩니다. 함께 애굽에게 내려진 심판을 살펴보길 원합니다. 

At the beginning of today’s passage, the time of the prophecy is given as “the first day of the first month in the twenty-seventh year,” which corresponds to late April, 571 BC. This is 17 years after the prophecy we examined yesterday was proclaimed. Continuing from yesterday, we will again look at the prophecies concerning Egypt. At times, we may feel that God’s judgment is delayed, leading us to doubt or grow weary. However, we must remember that God’s judgment will surely be fulfilled in His perfect timing. Especially in these last days, we must not rely on worldly things, but instead fix our eyes on God, who is eternal and sovereign over all authority. When we trust in Him, we will not lose heart in the face of an unjust reality but will instead hold on to hope. Let us now look at the judgment that came upon Egypt.

첫 번째로 하나님은 하나님의 때에 모든 심판과 회복을 이루시는 분이십니다. 18절부터 20절까지는 느부갓네살이 두로를 함락시킨 사건에 대한 하나님이 주시는 보상의 말씀이 나옵니다. BC 585~572년까지 장장 13년이라는 긴 시간에 걸려서 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살은 두로를 함락시켰습니다. 그러나 18절 후반절에 “그와 군대가 그 수고한 대가를 두로에서 얻지 못하였느니라”라고 나와있듯이 바벨론 군대는 이 전쟁에서 아무런 전리품을 얻지 못했습니다. 고대 전쟁에서 전리품은 군대의 임금과 보상의 주요 원천이었으므로, 이는 군사적으로나 경제적으로 크게 실망스러운 일이었습니다. 그런데 이 때 하나님께서 19절에 느부갓네살의 수고에 대한 보상으로 애굽을 그에게 넘겨주신다고 말씀하십니다. 왜냐하면 20절에 그들의 수고가 하나님을 위함이었기 때문입니다. 사실 느부갓네살은 자신의 이익을 위해 전쟁을 수행했을 것입니다. 그러나 그가 알지도 못하는 사이 그는 두로를 심판하는 하나님의 도구가 되어 하나님의 뜻을 이룬 것입니다. 

First, God is the One who accomplishes all judgment and restoration in His timing. Verses 18 through 20 speak of the reward God gives for Nebuchadnezzar’s conquest of Tyre. From 585 to 572 BC, over a long period of 13 years, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon besieged and conquered Tyre. However, as it says in the latter part of verse 18, “neither he nor his army got any reward from the campaign against Tyre.” In ancient warfare, plunder was the main source of wages and compensation for soldiers, so this would have been a great disappointment both militarily and economically. Yet at this time, God declares in verse 19 that He will give Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar as a reward for his labor. This is because, as stated in verse 20, their work was done for God. In reality, Nebuchadnezzar likely carried out the war for his own gain. However, without even realizing it, he became an instrument of God’s judgment against Tyre and fulfilled God’s will.

두 번째로 세상 그 어떤 권력도 하나님의 심판을 피할 수 없습니다. 30장 1절부터는 애굽을 비롯하여 애굽을 의지했던 구스, 붓, 룻 등 동맹 나라들을 향한 심판의 말씀이 나옵니다. 이 나라들은 애굽의 강대함을 믿었기 때문에 애굽의 편에 섰겠지요. 그러나 하나님의 심판 아래에 영원한 권력은 없습니다. 3절에 “그날이 가깝도다 여호와의 날이 가깝도다 구름의 날일 것이요 여러 나라들의 때이리로다”라는 표현을 통해 우리는 역사 전체가 하나님의 판단 아래 있음을 알 수 있습니다. 하나님이 정한 심판의 날에는 애굽뿐만 아니라 그와 연합한 모든 민족에게 하나님의 심판이 임할 것입니다. 이들이 당할 멸망의 모습은 4절부터 7절까지 자세히 나와있습니다. 그것은 바로 칼에 엎드러지고, 근심에 빠지며, 터가 헐리고 황폐해지는 것입니다. 이러한 예언들은 반드시 하나님의 때에 성취되겠고 이를 통해 하나님의 권능과 영광이 모두에게 드러날 것임을 우리는 다시한번 명심해야 할 것입니다. 

Second, no power in this world can escape God’s judgment. Beginning in chapter 30, verse 1, we see a message of judgment not only against Egypt, but also against allied nations such as Cush, Put, and Lud, who relied on Egypt. These nations likely sided with Egypt because they trusted in its strength. However, under God’s judgment, there is no eternal power. Verse 3 says, “For the day is near, the day of the Lord is near—a day of clouds, a time of doom for the nations.” Through this expression, we see that all of history is under God’s authority and judgment. On the day God has appointed, not only Egypt but all the nations allied with it will face His judgment. The devastation they will experience is described in detail in verses 4 through 7: they will fall by the sword, be overcome with anguish, their foundations will be torn down, and their land will become desolate. These prophecies will surely be fulfilled in God’s timing, and through them, His power and glory will be revealed to all. We must remember this once again.

우리는 지금 마지막 때를 살아가고 있습니다. 언제 예수님이 다시 오실지 지금 당장 오늘 오신다고해도 이상하지 않을 정도로 세상이 더욱 악해졌습니다. 그날이 오면 하나님을 믿지않고 세상적인 것들에 의지했던 자들은 모두 두렵고 무서운 심판의 날이 되겠지요. 그러나 21절에 나와있듯이 애굽이 심판을 받는 그날은 곧 이스라엘 백성들에게는 회복의 날이 될 것입니다. 그러니 우리 끝까지 예수님 잘 믿고 예수님만 의지하여 승리하길 원합니다. 불안하고 답답한 현실에 세상과 타협하고자 하는 마음에 흔들리지 말고 영원한 진리를 붙잡읍시다. 오직 하나님만을 참된 피난처로 삼는 귀한 한사랑 교회 성도님들 되시기를 기도드립니다. 

We are now living in the last days. The world has grown so evil that it would not be surprising if Jesus were to return even today. When that day comes, it will be a fearful and dreadful day of judgment for those who did not believe in God and instead relied on worldly things. However, as seen in verse 21, the day Egypt is judged will also be a day of restoration for the people of Israel. Therefore, let us continue to hold firmly to our faith in Jesus and rely on Him alone until the end, so that we may be victorious. Let us not be shaken by the temptation to compromise with the world in the midst of anxious and frustrating circumstances, but instead hold fast to the eternal truth. I pray that all members of Hansarang Church will make God alone their true refuge.
