20250801 [새벽묵상] 거짓 평안에서 깨어나라 | Wake Up from False Peace (겔/Ezk 11:1~12)

11:1 그 때에 주의 영이 나를 들어올려서 여호와의 전 동문 곧 동향한 문에 이르시기로 보니 그 문에 사람이 스물다섯 명이 있는데 내가 그 중에서 앗술의 아들 야아사냐와 브나야의 아들 블라댜를 보았으니 그들은 백성의 고관이라

11:2 그가 내게 이르시되 인자야 이 사람들은 불의를 품고 이 성 중에서 악한 꾀를 꾸미는 자니라

11:3 그들의 말이 집 건축할 때가 가깝지 아니한즉 이 성읍은 가마가 되고 우리는 고기가 된다 하나니

11:4 그러므로 인자야 너는 그들을 쳐서 예언하고 예언할지니라

1 Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the gate of the house of the Lord that faces east. There at the entrance of the gate were twenty-five men, and I saw among them Jaazaniah son of Azzur and Pelatiah son of Benaiah, leaders of the people. 2 The Lord said to me, “Son of man, these are the men who are plotting evil and giving wicked advice in this city. 3 They say, ‘Haven’t our houses been recently rebuilt? This city is a pot, and we are the meat in it.’ 4 Therefore prophesy against them; prophesy, son of man.”

11:5 여호와의 영이 내게 임하여 이르시되 너는 말하기를 여호와의 말씀에 이스라엘 족속아 너희가 이렇게 말하였도다 너희 마음에서 일어나는 것을 내가 다 아노라

11:6 너희가 이 성읍에서 많이 죽여 그 거리를 시체로 채웠도다

5 Then the Spirit of the Lord came on me, and he told me to say: “This is what the Lord says: That is what you are saying, you leaders in Israel, but I know what is going through your mind. 6 You have killed many people in this city and filled its streets with the dead.

11:7 그러므로 주 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하셨느니라 이 성읍 중에서 너희가 죽인 시체는 그 고기요 이 성읍은 그 가마인데 너희는 그 가운데에서 끌려 나오리라

11:8 나 주 여호와가 말하노라 너희가 칼을 두려워하니 내가 칼로 너희에게 이르게 하고

11:9 너희를 그 성읍 가운데에서 끌어내어 타국인의 손에 넘겨 너희에게 벌을 내리리니

11:10 너희가 칼에 엎드러질 것이라 내가 이스라엘 변경에서 너희를 심판하리니 너희는 내가 여호와인 줄을 알리라

11:11 이 성읍은 너희 가마가 되지 아니하고 너희는 그 가운데에 고기가 되지 아니할지라 내가 너희를 이스라엘 변경에서 심판하리니

11:12 너희는 내가 여호와인 줄을 알리라 너희가 내 율례를 행하지 아니하며 규례를 지키지 아니하고 너희 사방에 있는 이방인의 규례대로 행하였느니라 하셨다 하라

7 “Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: The bodies you have thrown there are the meat and this city is the pot, but I will drive you out of it. 8 You fear the sword, and the sword is what I will bring against you, declares the Sovereign Lord. 9 I will drive you out of the city and deliver you into the hands of foreigners and inflict punishment on you. 10 You will fall by the sword, and I will execute judgment on you at the borders of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Lord. 11 This city will not be a pot for you, nor will you be the meat in it; I will execute judgment on you at the borders of Israel. 12 And you will know that I am the Lord, for you have not followed my decrees or kept my laws but have conformed to the standards of the nations around you.”

여러분 평소에 페트병에 든 물 자주 마시시죠? 정수기가 없는 곳에서도 깨끗하게 정수된 물을 수월히 마실 수 있으니까 너무 간편하고 편리한 선택이죠. 그러나 이렇게 삶의 편리를 위해 페트병에 담긴 물을 마시는게 사실 몸에 굉장히 해롭다는거 알고 계셨습니까? 최근 미국 컬럼비아대학에서 발표한 연구에 따르면 생수병 1리터당 플라스틱 입자 24만 개가 검출됐다고 합니다. 물을 여과하는 과정, 물을 생수병에 담는 과정, 생수 병뚜껑을 여닫는 과정에서도 미세플라스틱이 생기는 것으로 나타났습니다. 뚜껑을 여닫는 과정에서 플라스틱 뚜껑과 병목 부분이 마모되기 때문이라는데요. 또한 페트병들이 유통되는 가운데 화물차량 안에서 오랜 시간 뜨거운 열에 노출되면서 더 많은 플라스틱이 물 속으로 유입된다고 합니다. 미세 플라스틱이 몸에 끼치는 악영향은 이미 다들 알고 계시죠? 쉽게 말하자면 미세 플라스틱이 혈관을 통해 온몸 곳곳으로 침투해 쌓이게 되면서 체내 호르몬을 교란시켜 다양한 염증을 일으킬 수 있습니다. 여기까지 들으시고 어떤 생각이 드시나요? ‘에잇 모르는게 약이다’ 싶으신가요? 저같아도 예전에는 마음 편히 하던 일들이 이러한 사실들을 알게 되면서 굉장히 마음을 불편하게 하더라고요. 왜냐하면 우리 삶의 한 방식으로 자리잡은 플라스틱을 한순간에 없애버리긴 쉽지 않기 때문입니다. 그래서 차라리 몰랐다면 마음이야 편했겠다 싶더라고요.

Do you often drink bottled water? It's such a convenient choice since you can easily access clean water even in places without a purifier. But did you know that drinking bottled water for the sake of convenience is actually very harmful to your health? According to a recent study from Columbia University in the U.S., around 240,000 plastic particles were detected per 1 liter of bottled water. These microplastics are created during the filtering process, the bottling process, and even just from opening and closing the bottle cap. The friction between the plastic cap and the bottle neck contributes to this. Also, as bottled water is transported and stored, it often sits in hot delivery trucks for long hours, causing more plastic to leach into the water. You probably already know how harmful microplastics can be to the body. To put it simply, these particles enter our bloodstream and accumulate throughout our bodies, disrupting hormones and causing various inflammations. So, how do you feel after hearing this? Do you think, "Eh, maybe ignorance is bliss?" I used to feel that way too. Things I used to do without thinking now make me feel uneasy once I learn the truth—because it's not easy to eliminate something like plastic, which has become a part of everyday life. So sometimes I wish I had just never known.

그래서 요즘 유행하는 말 중에 “Delulu is the solulu”라는 말이 있습니다. “Delusion is the solution”을 재미있는 어미로 바꿔서 한 말인데요. 망각이 해결책이라는 겁니다. 현실을 직시하지 않고 일단은 회피함으로 마음의 평안을 누리는거죠. 오늘 말씀에도 ‘Delulu’에 빠진 한 그룹의 사람들이 나옵니다. 스물다섯 명의 고관들입니다. 이들은 악한 일을 저질렀고 교만에 눈이 어두워져 버렸습니다. 그리고 회개하지 않음으로 하나님으로부터 죄의 심판을 받게 됐습니다. 이들의 잘못을 살펴보며 거짓 평안의 위험성을 인지하고 경각심을 갖는 오늘 새벽이 되기를 원합니다.

That’s why there’s a trending phrase these days: “Delulu is the solulu.” It’s a playful twist on “delusion is the solution.” In other words, forgetting reality becomes a kind of solution. By avoiding the truth, people try to enjoy peace of mind. In today’s passage, we meet a group of people caught in this kind of “delulu” thinking—twenty-five officials. These men committed evil acts and were blinded by pride. They didn’t repent, and as a result, they faced God’s judgment. As we examine their mistakes, may this morning be a time to recognize the danger of false peace and wake up to it.

1)    악행과 교만으로 가려진 눈

먼저 이 고관들이 잘못한 악행들을 살펴보길 원합니다. 사실 이 자들을 우리는 앞에서 본 적이 있습니다. 8장에서 태양신에게 예배하던 자들입니다. 다른 우상에게 절을 하던 그들의 가증한 행동을 하나님께서는 몹시 싫어하셨지요. 그리고 하나님은 에스겔에게 이들이 “죄악을 도모하고 이 성읍에 악한 조언을 해주고 있는 사람들이라고” 2절에서 설명합니다. 즉 이들은 악한 꾀를 꾸미는 자들로서 불의와 악을 적극적으로 조언하고 주도했습니다. 또한 6절에 그들은 예루살렘에서 많은 사람을 죽이고 그 시체로 성읍을 가득 채우는 악을 행했습니다. 문제는 이러한 악행을 저지르면서 이들은 전혀 죄책감을 느끼지 않았습니다. 오히려 바벨론에 포로로 끌려가지 않고 예루살렘에 남아 있는 자신들의 현실 상황을 보며 평안함을 가지고 있었습니다.

이것은 3절에서 파악해볼 수 있습니다. “그들의 말이 집 건축할 때가 가깝지 아니한즉 이 성읍은 가마가 되고 우리는 고기가 된다 하나니” (3절). 3절 상반절에 나오는 ‘집을 건축할 때가 가깝지 않다’라는 말로 볼 때 이들은 현재 예루살렘에서의 상당히 만족스러운 삶을 보내고 있음을 말합니다. 이들은 바벨론의 포로로 잡혀가지 않았고 예루살렘에 남아있으면서 잡혀간 왕과 관료들을 대신하여 새롭게 권력을 얻은 이들입니다. 그러므로 이들은 굳이 새로운 집을 지을 필요없이 얻게된 권력을 잘 유지하길 원하는 태평한 태도를 보이고 있습니다. 두 번째로 3절 하반절에 ‘예루살렘은 가마가 되고 자신들은 고기가 된다’는 말의 의미는 예루살렘은 저장고이고 자신들은 그 안에 있는 고기와 같다는 뜻입니다. 즉 그들에게 예루살렘은 자신들을 외부 위협으로 지켜 주는 보호막입니다. 현재 심판이 임하지 않는 현실에서 성전이 있는 예루살렘에 머물러 있으므로 하나님의 보호를 받고 있다고 착각했습니다. 이러한 착각으로 인해 그들은 더욱 대담하게 죄악의 길에 머물러 있게 했습니다.

1)    Blinded by Evil and Pride

Let’s first look at the wicked actions of these officials. We've actually seen them before—back in verse 8—worshiping the sun god. God hated their detestable behavior of bowing to other idols. In verse 2, God explains to Ezekiel that these men are plotting evil and giving wicked advice to the city. That is, they were instigators of injustice and corruption. Verse 6 tells us they committed violence, filling Jerusalem with the dead. The problem is, despite all this, they felt no guilt. In fact, they felt at peace seeing that they hadn’t been taken into exile to Babylon. We can see this attitude in verse 3: “This city is a pot, and we are the meat.” The first part—“It’s not time to build houses”—suggests they were quite content with life in Jerusalem. They weren’t exiled and had even gained power in place of the exiled king and officials. So they had no need to build new houses and simply enjoyed their newfound authority. The second part—“the city is the pot, and we are the meat”—means that they saw Jerusalem as a secure pot protecting them, like meat kept safe inside. They mistakenly believed that staying in Jerusalem, where the temple was, meant they were under God’s protection, since judgment hadn’t yet arrived. This illusion of safety made them even more bold in continuing their sinful ways.

2)    현실직시

이제 하나님은 그들이 했던 말을 그대로 가져와 그들에게 현실을 알려주십니다. 7절에 예루살렘은 보호하는 가마고 원래 그 보호를 받아야 했던 사람들은 그들이 죽인 백성들이었다고 말합니다. 그러므로 정작 스물다섯 명의 고관들은 오히려 예루살렘에서 쫓겨나야 할 존재들이 되었습니다. 이들에게 내려진 심판은 두 가지입니다. 첫째로, 도살자의 행위를 한 그들에게 하나님이 도살자가 되시어 ‘칼’의 심판이 내려집니다. 둘째로, 9절에 타국인의 손에 넘겨져 포로가 되는 심판입니다. 하나님의 백성이라는 정체성을 버리고 이방인의 규례대로 행한 자들에게 더 이상 약속의 땅인 예루살렘에서 살 자격을 주지 않으십니다. 그래서 이들은 약속의 땅 밖으로 완전히 추방당할 것입니다.

2) Facing Reality

Now God responds by using their own words to reveal the truth. In verse 7, He says that Jerusalem is indeed a pot, but the people it was meant to protect were the ones these officials had killed. In other words, the twenty-five officials were the ones who should be cast out of the city. God’s judgment for them comes in two forms:1. The sword—God Himself becomes the executioner, bringing judgment on those who acted as butchers. 2. Exile—In verse 9, they are handed over to foreigners and taken as captives. These men had rejected their identity as God’s people and lived according to pagan customs. So God declares they are no longer worthy of living in the promised land—they will be completely banished from it.

우리의 교만한 마음은 우리가 회개해야할 심각한 사태를 인지하지 못하게 하고 자기 합리화를 하게하며 거짓 평안을 누리게 합니다. 우리도 하나님은 사랑의 하나님이라는 사실만 강조하며 공의의 하나님을 잊고 있지는 않습니까? 우리가 회개하길 참고 기다리시는 하나님의 인자하심을 남용하지는 않습니까? 바리새인들처럼 받은 사랑은 다 잊고 나 잘난 맛에 사는 종교인 행세를 하고 있지는 않습니까? 오늘 본문 5절 하반절에 하나님께서 말씀하십니다. “너희 마음에서 일어나는 것을 내가 다 아노라.” 이 세상에 살면서 세상 사람들과 구별되는 삶을 살아야 하는데 오히려 세상 사람들과 같은 방식으로 우상들을 섬기며 살았음을 고백하길 원합니다. 예수님께서는 우리에게 경고하십니다. “너희는 스스로 조심하라 그렇지 않으면 방탕함과 술취함과 생활의 염려로 마음이 둔하여지고 뜻밖에 그 날이 덫과 같이 너희에게 임하리라” (눅 13:27). 마지막 때가 가까이 임한 현재 우리는 끊임없이 마음을 점검하고 긴장의 끈을 놓치지 말아야 합니다. 오늘 새벽 성령님께 의지하여 우리가 차마 인지하지 못했던 죄들을 일깨워 주시길 함께 기도합시다. 그러므로 하나님을 거스르는 삶을 살며 누리는 거짓 평안이 아니라 예수님을 통해서 하나님과 평화를 누리며 가지게되는 참된 평안을 누리시는 성도님들 되시길 기도드립니다.

Our prideful hearts often blind us to the seriousness of our sin and lead us to justify ourselves, allowing us to live in a false sense of peace. Are we, perhaps, only emphasizing that God is a God of love, while forgetting that He is also a God of justice? Are we misusing God's kindness, remembering only His forgiveness while neglecting the fact that He is patiently waiting for our repentance? In the second half of today’s passage, verse 5, God says:“I know what is going through your mind.” As people living in this world, we are called to live lives that are set apart from the world, but instead, we confess that we have been living just like the world—serving idols in its ways. Jesus warns us:“Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap.” (Luke 21:34) As the end draws near, we must continually examine our hearts and remain spiritually alert. Let us pray together this morning, relying on the Holy Spirit, that He would awaken us to the sins we have not yet even recognized. Therefore, I pray that you will not live in false peace that comes from opposing God, but instead enjoy true peace that comes from being reconciled with God through Jesus Christ.
