20:13 한 선지자가 이스라엘의 아합 왕에게 나아가서 이르되 여호와의 말씀이 네가 이 큰 무리를 보느냐 내가 오늘 그들을 네 손에 넘기리니 너는 내가 여호와인 줄을 알리라 하셨나이다

Ahab Defeats Ben-Hadad
13 Meanwhile a prophet came to Ahab king of Israel and announced, “This is what the Lord says: ‘Do you see this vast army? I will give it into your hand today, and then you will know that I am the Lord.’”
14 “But who will do this?” asked Ahab.
The prophet replied, “This is what the Lord says: ‘The junior officers under the provincial commanders will do it.’”
“And who will start the battle?” he asked.
The prophet answered, “You will.”
20:15 아합이 이에 각 지방 고관의 청년들을 계수하니 이백삼십이 명이요 그 외에 모든 백성 곧 이스라엘의 모든 자손을 계수하니 칠 천 명이더라
20:16 그들이 정오에 나가니 벤하닷은 장막에서 돕는 왕 삼십이 명과 더불어 마시고 취한 중이라
20:17 각 지방의 고관의 청년들이 먼저 나갔더라 벤하닷이 정탐꾼을 보냈더니 그들이 보고하여 이르되 사마리아에서 사람들이 나오더이다 하매
20:18 그가 이르되 화친하러 나올지라도 사로잡고 싸우러 나올지라도 사로잡으라 하니라
15 So Ahab summoned the 232 junior officers under the provincial commanders. Then he assembled the rest of the Israelites, 7,000 in all. 16 They set out at noon while Ben-Hadad and the 32 kings allied with him were in their tents getting drunk. 17 The junior officers under the provincial commanders went out first.
Now Ben-Hadad had dispatched scouts, who reported, “Men are advancing from Samaria.”
18 He said, “If they have come out for peace, take them alive; if they have come out for war, take them alive.”
20:19 각 지방 고관의 청년들과 그들을 따르는 군대가 성읍에서 나가서
20:20 각각 적군을 쳐죽이매 아람 사람이 도망하는지라 이스라엘이 쫓으니 아람 왕 벤하닷이 말을 타고 마병과 더불어 도망하여 피하니라
20:21 이스라엘 왕이 나가서 말과 병거를 치고 또 아람 사람을 쳐서 크게 이겼더라
19 The junior officers under the provincial commanders marched out of the city with the army behind them 20 and each one struck down his opponent. At that, the Arameans fled, with the Israelites in pursuit. But Ben-Hadad king of Aram escaped on horseback with some of his horsemen. 21 The king of Israel advanced and overpowered the horses and chariots and inflicted heavy losses on the Arameans.
20:22 그 선지자가 이스라엘 왕에게 나아와 이르되 왕은 가서 힘을 기르고 왕께서 행할 일을 알고 준비하소서 해가 바뀌면 아람 왕이 왕을 치러 오리이다 하니라
22 Afterward, the prophet came to the king of Israel and said, “Strengthen your position and see what must be done, because next spring the king of Aram will attack you again.”
20:23 아람 왕의 신하들이 왕께 아뢰되 그들의 신은 산의 신이므로 그들이 우리보다 강하였거니와 우리가 만일 평지에서 그들과 싸우면 반드시 그들보다 강할지라
20:24 또 왕은 이 일을 행하실지니 곧 왕들을 제하여 각각 그 곳에서 떠나게 하고 그들 대신에 총독들을 두시고
20:25 또 왕의 잃어버린 군대와 같은 군대를 왕을 위하여 보충하고 말은 말대로, 병거는 병거대로 보충하고 우리가 평지에서 그들과 싸우면 반드시 그들보다 강하리이다 왕이 그 말을 듣고 그리하니라
23 Meanwhile, the officials of the king of Aram advised him, “Their gods are gods of the hills. That is why they were too strong for us. But if we fight them on the plains, surely we will be stronger than they. 24 Do this: Remove all the kings from their commands and replace them with other officers. 25 You must also raise an army like the one you lost—horse for horse and chariot for chariot—so we can fight Israel on the plains. Then surely we will be stronger than they.” He agreed with them and acted accordingly.
어떤 사람들은 선과 악이 존재하지 않는다고 믿습니다. 그들은 모든 사람이 선하다고 믿고 때때로 악한 행동을 할 수 있다고 생각합니다. 예를 들어, A와 B라는 사람이 있습니다. A는 B를 싫어합니다. A의 마음속에서 이미 B를 죽였지만, 실제로 A는 B를 죽이지 않았습니다. 그렇다면 A는 악한 사람일까요? 오늘날 사회는 단순이 생각 하는 것은 악한 사람이 아니라고 생각 할 것입니다. 하지만 실제로 살인을 저질렀다면 그는 악한 사람이 아니라 그냥 안 좋은 결정을 내렸다고 여길 것입니다.

간단히 말해서, 악은 하나님 없이 사는 것이고, 선은 하나님과 함께 사는 것입니다. 우리 모두가 선을 선택하고 하나님을 위해 살기를 기도합니다.
Some people believe that there is no such thing as good and evil. They believe that everyone is good but sometimes they commit evil deeds. For instance, we have person A and person B. A hates B. In A’s mind, A already killed Person B. However, A didn’t actually kill B. So does this make person A an evil person? Society would say that this mere thought is not evil, but if you actually commit murder, then you would be considered making a bad decision.
Because of our sinful nature, it is impossible to not have any bad thoughts. We are human after all. John Piper said this about evil:
The core essence of evil is preferring anything more than God, loving anything not for God’s sake. Evil is an act of preferring. Where there is no will, no volition, there is no evil. Evil is a function of willing — Satan willing, demons willing, humans willing. It is not a function of stuff — it is a function of willing. Evil is always defined in the Bible with reference to willing in regard to God. God is the supreme value in the universe, and therefore, evil is defined with reference to this ultimate reality, ultimate value, ultimate treasure. Failing to value the ultimately valuable appropriately is evil. That is what evil is.
The truth is that good and evil does exist.
To put it simply, evil is living without God while good is living with God. I pray that we may all choose Good and that we will always live for God.
오늘의 성경 구절에서 우리는 악의 세력을 분별하고 대처하는 방법을 봅니다.
하나님이 대신 싸워 줍니다
아합이 아람의 거대한 군대를 보고 두려워할 때, 하나님은 그에게 가장 중요한 메시지를보내셨습니다. 이 전투는 하나님이 하나님이심을 드러내는 기회였습니다.

이스라엘 사람들이 출애굽 후 파라오의 군대와 휘몰아치는 홍해 사이에서 갇혔을 때, 모세를 통해 주님께서 말씀하셨습니다:
"너희는 두려워하지 말고 가만히 서서 여호와께서 오늘 너희를 위하여 행하시는 구원을 보라 너희가 오늘 본 애굽 사람을 영원히 다시 보지 아니하리라." (출애굽기 14:13)
지금, 이스라엘과 아람 사이의 전투에서, 하나님은 본인을 드러내시고 모든 믿는 자들이 위기와 위협 속의 영적 전쟁에서 하나님이 하나님이심을 깨닫는 기회로 삼고자 하십니다.
그러므로, 우리 본인이나, 우리 공동체, 우리 교회가 위기에 처했을 때, 두려워하지 말고 담대히 하나님을 의지하여 살아 계신 주님을 경험할 수 있도록 축복 합니다.
In today’s scriptures, we see how we should discern and address the forces of evil.
Let God fight for you
When Ahab saw the great multitude of the Aramean army and was afraid, God sent a prophet to him with a message that was the most important. This battle was an opportunity for God to demonstrate that He is God.
"I will give it into your hand today, and then you will know that I am the Lord." (Verse 13b)
When Israel faced the insurmountable Aram, and was in a moment of need and despair, these words were exactly what Israel needed.
When we are facing this big army or some big obstacles in our lives, we should not be pre-emptively fearful or fall into a mindset of defeat. Rather, where should our focus be? It should be on God.
When the Israelites were trapped between Pharaoh's advancing army and the surging Red Sea after the Exodus, through Moses, the Lord said:
"Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again." (Exodus 14:13)
Now, in the battle between Israel and Aram, He wants to reveal Himself and make it an opportunity for all believers to realize that God is God in the midst of spiritual battles faced in crises and threats.
So, When I or our community, or our church face a crisis, let us not be afraid but boldly rely on God, so that we may experience in our living Lord.
전투는 계속됩니다.
그 선지자가 이스라엘 왕에게 나아와 이르되 왕은 가서 힘을 기르고 왕께서 행할 일을 알고 준비하소서 해가 바뀌면 아람 왕이 왕을 치러 오리이다 하니라! (22절)
선지자가 전한 하나님의 말씀을 의지하여, 이스라엘은 단 7,232명의 사람들로 벤하닷 왕의 거대한 군대를 이겼습니다. 이 군대는 32명의 왕들도 함께 했었습니다.
그러나 이것으로 모든 것이 끝난 것은 아닙니다. 선지자는 아합에게 해가 바뀌면 아람 왕이 다시 공격할 것이라고 말하며, 한 번의 승리에 자만하지 않고 계속 전투 준비를 강조했습니다.
우리의 영적 전투는 복음서에서 보는 예수님의 삶에서와 같이 한 번의 싸움으로 끝나지 않습니다.
예수님의 초기 공생애에 광야에서 나타난 마귀는 그분의 삶 내내 끊임없이 나타났습니다. 심지어 가장 가까운 친구들과 제자들을 통해서도 나타났습니다. 시련과 고난은 언제 어디서든 예기치 않게 발생할 수 있습니다.
선지자는 아람에 대한 첫 번째 침공에서 승리한 아합과 이스라엘에게 다른 공격에 대비하여 자신들을 강화하고 준비하라고 경고했습니다. 우리도 지속적인 영적 전쟁에 있다는 것을 이 새벽에 기억 해야 합니다.
The battle continues.
Strengthen your position and see what must be done, because next spring the king of Aram will attack you again! (Verse 22)
Relying on the word of God conveyed by the prophet, Israel, with only 7,232 men, defeated Ben-Hadad's vast army, which included 32 kings
However, this was not the end of everything. The prophet told Ahab that when the year turned, the king of Aram would attack again, emphasizing the need to not become complacent after one victory but to continue to be battle-ready.
Our spiritual battle, as seen in the life of Jesus in the Gospels, does not end with one fight.
The devil that appeared in the early public life of Jesus in the wilderness appeared incessantly throughout His life, even through His closest friends and disciples, trials and tribulations can emerge unexpectedly anywhere, anytime.
The prophet warned Ahab and Israel, who had won the first invasion against Aram, to be on guard for another attack and to strengthen themselves and prepare for action, just as we should remember that we are in an ongoing spiritual battle and resolve to stay vigilant this morning.
마귀는 패배를 인정하지 않고 다음 전투를 계획합니다.
이스라엘에게 패배한 후, 아람 왕 벤하닷은 자신들의 실패 원인을 분석하고, 다음 전투를 어떻게 할지 장교들과 진지하게 논의했습니다.
간단히 말해서, 우리가 승리를 즐길 때, 마귀는 다음 전투를 위해 계획을 세우고 있습니다. 우리는 교만하지 말고 더욱 깨어있고 경계해야 합니다.
마태복음 13:25에서 예수님은 가라지 비유에서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다: "사람들이 잘 때에 그 원수가 와서 곡식 가운데 가라지를 덧뿌리고 갔더니."
마귀는 우리가 잠들어 있는 동안 전략을 세우고 기다립니다. 언제 또 다시 공격할지 모릅니다. 그래서 우리는 항상 깨어있어야 하는 것입니다.
주님!
영적 전투에서 한 번의 승리로 자만하지 않게 하시고, 마귀의 진영과의 대치는 지속되며, 악한 영들도 승리를 위해 전략을 세우고 있음을 기억하게 하소서. 항상 깨어 있는 신앙을 유지하고 뱀보다 지혜로운 전략을 우리에게 허락하여 주옵소서.
The devil does not admit defeat and plans for the next battle.
After being defeated by Israel, King Ben-Hadad of Aram analyzed where they had gone wrong and seriously discussed with his officers what to do in the next battle, as vividly depicted by the author of Kings.
In short, while we may be enjoying our victory, the devil is planning the next battle, a warning that we should not be arrogant but be more vigilant and alert.
In Matthew 13:25, Jesus said in the parable of the weeds, “But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way”
Considering that the devil plans and executes their strategies while we are asleep, it is a reminder this morning that we must always be vigilant and pray.
Lord!
In spiritual warfare, prevent us from becoming complacent after a victory. The confrontation with the devil's camp is ongoing, and evil spirits also plan strategies to win. Help us to always maintain a vigilant faith and adopt strategies wiser than those of a serpent, so we may gain the upper hand.
