23 They arranged to meet Paul on a certain day, and came in even larger numbers to the place where he was staying. He witnessed to them from morning till evening, explaining about the kingdom of God, and from the Law of Moses and from the Prophets he tried to persuade them about Jesus.
28:24 그 말을 믿는 사람도 있고 믿지 아니하는 사람도 있어
24 Some were convinced by what he said, but others would not believe.
28:25 서로 맞지 아니하여 흩어질 때에 바울이 한 말로 이르되 성령이 선지자 이사야를 통하여 너희 조상들에게 말씀하신 것이 옳도다
25 They disagreed among themselves and began to leave after Paul had made this final statement: “The Holy Spirit spoke the truth to your ancestors when he said through Isaiah the prophet:
28:26 일렀으되 이 백성에게 가서 말하기를 너희가 듣기는 들어도 도무지 깨닫지 못하며 보기는 보아도 도무지 알지 못하는도다
26 “‘Go to this people and say,
“You will be ever hearing but never understanding;
you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.”
28:27 이 백성들의 마음이 우둔하여져서 그 귀로는 둔하게 듣고 그 눈은 감았으니 이는 눈으로 보고 귀로 듣고 마음으로 깨달아 돌아오면 내가 고쳐 줄까 함이라 하였으니
27 For this people’s heart has become calloused;
they hardly hear with their ears,
and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them.’
28:28 그런즉 하나님의 이 구원이 이방인에게로 보내어진 줄 알라 그들은 그것을 들으리라 하더라
28 “Therefore I want you to know that God’s salvation has been sent to the Gentiles, and they will listen!”

30 For two whole years Paul stayed there in his own rented house and welcomed all who came to see him.
28:31 하나님의 나라를 전파하며 주 예수 그리스도에 관한 모든 것을 담대하게 거침없이 가르치더라
31 He proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ—with all boldness and without hindrance!

We are now at the end of the Book of Acts. However, this is not the end of God’s acts. The Book of Acts ends without a true ending. Just from reading this chapter, we don’t know what happens to Paul, Philip, or Peter. Some scholars think that Paul went on a fourth missionary trip to Spain. However, we will never know for certain. What we do know is that the Bible is not about any specific person or even us which is probably why we don’t know know what happened. The Bible is about God. So let’s examine this chapter to see what God wants us to hear today.
로마의 유대인들은 바울이 하나님의 나라와 복음에 대해 말할 때 듣고 있습니다. 바울은 엄청오래 전부터 로마 사람들에게 말하고 싶어했습니다. 그의 가장 큰 희망은 이 로마에 있는 유대인들이 예수를 메시아로 받아들이길 바라는 것입니다. 로마서 9:1-3에서 바울은 심지어 그 들 대신 저주도 받을 수 있다고 합니다. .

The Jewish community of Rome is listening to Paul speak about the Kingdom of God. Paul wanted to speak to the people in Rome for a very long time. His greatest hope is that the people will accept Jesus as their Messiah. In Romans 9:1-4a, Paul was even willing to be condemned to hell if that’s what it would take for the people to believe.
1 I speak the truth in Christ—I am not lying, my conscience confirms it through the Holy Spirit— 2 I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. 3 For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my people, those of my own race, 4 the people of Israel.
바울은 실제로 이것이 일어나길 원하는 것은 아닙니다. 다만 바울은 이 로마의 사람들에 대해 깊은 감정을 가지고 있어 그들과 자리를 바꾸고 싶을 정도라고 말합니다. 바울은 유대인으로자라나긴 했지만 로마 시민이자나요? 그래서 로마의 사람들이 하나님께 돌아오길 원했습니다. 우리는 하나님의 나라에 대해 다른 사람들과 이야기할 때 이러한 결단력과 열정을 갖고 있습니까? 바울은 복음의 전진을 위해 모든 것을 내려놓을 준비가 되어 있었습니다. 그 열정으로, 아침부터 저녁까지 바울은 예수님의 대해 이 로마인들에게 설교하고 있었습니다. 그러나 그 중 일부는 믿었고 일부는 믿지 않았습니다. 심지어 바울과 같이 굉장한 능력자가 예수님의 대해 증거하더라도 일부는 믿었고 일부는 믿지 않았습니다. 오늘날에도 똑같습니다. 마태복음 13장에서는 씨 뿌리는 자의 비유에서 농부가 씨를 뿌리러 나가서 어떤 것은 길가에 떨어지고 어떤 것은 돌밭에 떨어지며 어떤 것은 가시 떨기 사이에 떨어지고 어떤 것은 좋은 땅에 떨어집니다. 일부는 아무런 열매를 맺지 않을 것이고 일부는 열매가 많을 것입니다. .
He’s not actually asking for this to happen. He just feels so strongly about them that he would even be willing to trade places for them. Remember that he is a Roman citizen as well and he is talking to his own people of Rome. Paul wanted the people of Rome to come back to God.
Do we have this type of determination and passion when we talk to others about the Kingdom of God? Paul was willing to lay down everything for the marching of the Gospel. With that passion, from morning to evening, Paul is trying to persuade them about Jesus. But some of them believed and some did not. Even with someone great as Paul testifying about Jesus, some believed, and some did not. This breaks Paul's heart. This happens even in today’s generation. In Matthew 13, in the parable of the Sower, a farmer went out to sow his seed. Some fell along the path, some fell on rocky places, some fell among thorns, and some fell on good soil. Some of the seed will produce crop while some of the seed will produce nothing.
그렇다면 왜 어떤 사람들은 믿지 않았을까요? 이 세대도 마찬가지 이유입니다. 예수님을 믿기위해서는 어떤 헌신과 희생이 필요합니다. 사람들은 자신의 생활 방식을 바꿔야 한다는 것을 싫어합니다. 심지어 예수님께서 사람들의 눈 앞에서 기적을 행하셨을 때 무슨 일이 벌어졌습니까? 어떤 사람들은 믿었고 어떤 사람들은 믿지 않았습니다. 우리의 사회에서는 여전히 예수님의 기적을 직접 보면 믿을 것이라고 생각하는 사람들이 있습니다. "만약 예수님께서 죽은 사람을 살리는 기적을 내 눈으로 보여주신다면, 나는 100% 믿을 것이다." 만약 그게 사실이었다면, 세계 모든 사람들이 기독교인 이겠죠. 2020년 통계에 따르면 기독교는 23.8억으로 1위 종교입니다. (이 숫자에는 제7일 안식일 , 몰몬교 등과 같은 다양한 이단도 포함됩니다.) 이슬람은 19.1억으로 2위 종교이고, 힌두교는 11.6억으로 3위 종교입니다. 불교는 5.07억으로 4위 종교 입니다. 그러므로 기독교 조차 지금은 실제로 1위 종교가아닙니다.
So why did some of them not believe? It’s the same reason as this generation. To believe in Jesus, it requires some type of commitment and sacrifice. They need to change their style of living. Even when Jesus performed miracles right in front of crowds of people, what happened? Some people believed while some didn’t. There are always those people who think that they would believe if they saw Jesus’ miracles live in person. “If I see Jesus raise up someone from the dead, I will believe 100%.” If this was the case, everybody in the world would be Christians. According to statistics from 2020, Christianity the #1 religion at 2.38 billiion. (Keep in mind that this number also includes different cults like seventh day Adventists, Mormons, etc.)
Islam is the #2 religion at 1.91 billion. Hinduism is the #3 religion at 1.16 billion. Buddhism is $4 religion at 507 million. So Christianity isn’t even really the #1 religion anymore.

In verses 26-27, Paul is reciting Isaiah 6:9-10 as to why some people would not believe.
Go to this people and say, “You will be ever hearing but never understanding;you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.” For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.’
이사야는 주로 아하스와 히스기야 왕들에게 예언했습니다. 이사야가 시리아와 이스라엘의 군대로부터 유다를 보호하리라고 확신하였음에도 불구하고 아하스는 성전의 보물에서 돈을 가져와 앗수르에게 지불하여 그들의 유다를 더이상 공격하지 않도록 했습니다. 아하스는 또한 제사장들에게 성전에 거짓 신들의 모형을 만들고 제사를 하라고 했습니다. 더욱 끔찍한 일로, 아하스는 본인의 아들들도 거짓 신들에게 제물로 바쳤습니다. 아하스와 마찬가지로 그들의 메시아를 거절한 유대인들은 하나님의 함께 계심에도 불구하고 거짓 신들을 숭배하기로 선택했습니다.
Isaiah primarily prophesied to Kings Ahaz and Hezekiah. Despite Isaiah's assurance that God would protect Judah from the armies of Syria and Israel, Ahaz took money from the temple treasury and paid Assyria to draw their fire away from Judah. Ahaz then ordered the priests to build a model of the Assyrian altar in the temple and burn sacrifices on it. More horrifically, he sacrificed his own sons. Like Ahaz, the Jews who reject their Messiah choose to worship false gods despite God's presence with them.
그러나 바울은 복음을 계속 전파했습니다. 복임의 행진은 아무도 못 막습니다. 복음이 능력인줄 믿습니다. 31절에서는 바울이 하나님의 나라를 "담대하게 거침없이" 전파했다고 기록되어있습니다. 바울이 어떻게 이렇게 대담하게 될 수 있었을까요? 하나님과 지속적으로 의사 소통 하였기 때문입니다. 바울은 하나님의 음성을 항상 들었기 때문입니다.
However, Paul continued on spreading the Gospel. Because this Gospel is so powerful. In verse 31, it is written that Paul proclaimed the Kingdom of God “with all boldness and without hindrance” How was Paul able to be so bold? Because Paul was in constant communication with God. Paul listened for the voice of God.

I saw this one video. It is titled “God is speaking”. It was of a man who was going through a routine day. He would wake up, brush his teeth, go exercise, go work, go back home, and go to sleep. And during his day, there would be notes telling him, “Let’s talk” “I’m proud of you” “You can do it” “I love you”. But the man didn’t know that he received notes. And during the last scene, he was on the sofa, eating dinner, and behind him were 1000s of post it notes. But he couldn’t even see them. All these notes are the voice of God, messages of God. God is continuing to speak to us and yet we don’t know that God is speaking to us. So, when we become tired and weary, we complain to God asking Him why He is not responding to us. But he is answering us. He is answering our prayers.
바울은 하나님의 음성을 수시로 듣기 때문에 감옥에 갇쳐 있을 때도 복음을 전파하는 데에 아무런 문제가 되지 않았습니다. 다른 사람들이 사역에 방해가 될 것으로 여길 수 있는 것들을 바울은 하나님의 말씀의 영광스러운 진리를 공유하는 기회로 활용했습니다. 바울은 그의 길에 놓인 장애물을 하나님의 복음을 전하는 기회로 활용하였고, 하나님의 아들 예수 그리스도의 구원에 대한 증언을 전하였습니다. 바울처럼 우리도 하나님의 음성을 듣고 우리 앞에 있는 장애물을 사용하여 예수 그리스도의 복음을 전하는 기회로 활용하시길 바랍니다.
Because Paul listened to God, his imprisonments did not hinder him from testifying to the truth of God's Word to whosoever would listen. Things that others would consider to be a ministry stumbling block, Paul used as a springboard to share the glorious truth of the gospel of Christ. He used obstacles that were placed in his path as opportunities to testify to the gospel of God and to witness to the salvation in His Son, Jesus Christ. Like Paul, let us listen to God and use our obstacles to share the good news of Jesus Christ.
